If skiing or snowboarding is one of your favorite activities, consider becoming an instructor with Alpine West Ski & Snowboard School. Teaching is one of the best ways to enjoy the mountain and improve your skills.
We are looking for staff who are friendly, mature, good communicators, interested in self-improvement, helpful, have a passion for skiing or snowboarding, work and learn well with others, and are intermediate through expert-level skiers or snowboarders.
We request our instructors be committed to the six-week program and teach at least one lesson per weekend.
Essential Duties:
Clearly and accurately instruct assigned lesson levels to students in alignment with PSIA teaching standards.
Have excellent guest service skills and be willing to work with guests of all ages from 5 years old to adult.
Provide a safe and fun learning environment.
Attend all training sessions as assigned.
Assist in all operational responsibilities which may include but are not limited to snow removal, trash removal, upkeep of outdoor teaching areas, cleanliness of facility, and any other duties as assigned by directors.
Have a clean and welcoming appearance.
Arrive to work on time prepared for all duties within the job description.
Able to work cooperatively with staff and other departments to ensure the safety, security, and enjoyment of our guests.
Supervising children in class at all times; ensuring the return of children to identified guardians.
Student Instructor Training Program - “formally known as Cadet” (age 13 -18) will learn indispensable life skills and begin to see how and why a skilled instructor knows what to teach. You will train with them directly and become a mentor to our students.
Participants must be parallel skiers or advanced snowboarders who ski and ride comfortably & confidently everywhere in all conditions.
Minimun Partifipation Requiement:
Complete 12-hour training held every weekend from 9:00 am - 10:30 am.
Shadow and Assist: 6 hours during group lessons 11:00 am to 12:30 pm.
